Standard porcelain mug with wood ash glaze - oxidised
This is a standard porcelain mug, thrown on the potters wheel. The glaze has oxidised slightly when firing in the gas kiln, giving it a yellowish tinge with a few speckles of iron bursts on its surface.
My wood ash glaze is made with the wood ash sourced from a local boat builder. This wood ash can change from each batch of pots, making each piece one of a kind. Gas fired to 1300 degrees.
